Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, also known as C/2023 A3, is a long-period comet that will reach perihelion on September 28, 2024. Upon closest approach to Earth on October 13th at a distance of 41 million km, it is predicted to be visible in the naked eye, potentially reaching an apparent magnitude of -1 assuming that it survives its close approach to the Sun!
