Welcome to Celestia

	Tap the mode button on the sidebar to switch between object mode and camera mode.
	In object mode, drag to rotate around an object.
	Pinch to zoom in/out on an object.
	In camera mode, drag to move field of view.
	Pinch to zoom in/out field of view.

Basic Navigation

Like other apps on Xbox, Celestia uses the same navigation system. When the UI overlay is activated (for example, when you open a dialog or activate the menu via menu button), you can navigation through the buttons using the thumbstick or direction pad buttons. Press A and most likely you will invoke the action that the focus is in. Press B and most likely you will close the dialog or other overlay.

Game Controller Actions

The vanilla Celestia for Win32 has limited support for game controllers, but we've added support more game controller button actions and features. A list of game controller actions is provided here. To customize the button and thumbstick actions, follow these steps:

Press menu/select button to bring up the menu

Navigation to File, then Settings

Open Setting via button A, navigate to the main content and press A to enter

Navigate into the settings, and change actions according to your like

When you are done, go back by pressing button B

Free Flight Mode

With a game controller you can explore with free flight mode of Celestia. The setting is in Navigation → Flight Mode. To learn more about flight modes, visit here.

Basic Navigation

You can select an object by looking at it and tapping your fingers together. By dragging with your fingers together, you move camera's field of view. By pinching with two hands, you change your distance to the selected object.

Game Controller Actions

Celestia for visionOS works better with a game controller connected. You can find and customize the game controller actions in Settings → Game Controller. A list of game controller actions is provided here.

Free Flight Mode

With a game controller connected, you can explore with free flight mode of Celestia. The setting is in Camera Control → Flight Mode. To learn more about flight modes, visit here.

Time/Travel Speed Control

You can control time and the speed of traveling with the actions attached to the bottom of the dashboard view. For time control, ⏪ and ⏩ change the speed of time by 10x per tap. For travel speed control, ⏪ and ⏩ work with long presses.
