The Celestia Development Team values and protects your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use the app. We process personal information only for the purposes, by the methods, and within the scope described in this policy after you have read and explicitly agreed to it. If you do not agree to this policy, we will not initiate the collection described below.

Information Collection and Use

To maintain app stability, analyze crashes and performance issues, determine device compatibility, and improve service quality, the app and its integrated Sentry SDK may process the following information after you agree to this policy:

  • Installed software list: A list of apps installed on the device, including app names, package identifiers, and version numbers. The app automatically reads this information through operating system app-information interfaces solely to identify software environments that may cause crashes, runtime errors, or compatibility issues. It is not used for advertising or user profiling.
  • Device MAC address: The MAC address of a device network interface. The app automatically reads this information through operating system device or network-information interfaces solely for device identification, runtime environment security analysis, troubleshooting, and preventing duplicate diagnostic records. It is not used for advertising or user profiling.
  • List of specific sensor types: Information about specific types of sensors supported by the device, including sensor type, name, manufacturer, and version. The app automatically reads the sensor list through operating system sensor interfaces solely to determine device feature compatibility and troubleshoot crashes and performance issues.
  • Rotation vector sensor data: After you explicitly enable the “Gyroscope Control” feature, the app continuously reads the device’s rotation vector data through operating system sensor interfaces solely to control the in-app camera direction based on device orientation. This feature is disabled by default, and the app stops reading this data when you disable the feature or the app enters the background. This data is not used for advertising, user profiling, or identification.
  • Diagnostic and usage data: Crash logs, error information, performance data, app launch and restart counts, and runtime environment information such as device model, operating system, and app version. This data is collected automatically through app logs and the Sentry SDK solely for troubleshooting, performance analysis, and service improvement.

Collection timing and method: The information above is collected only after you agree to this policy. It may be collected automatically by the app or the Sentry SDK through operating system interfaces when the app starts, when you use a relevant feature, or when a diagnostic event such as a crash or slowdown occurs. It is transmitted for processing over an encrypted network connection. We do not collect this information before you agree to this policy or process it beyond the purposes and scope expressly described here.

You may decline this policy, in which case the app will not initiate the collection described above. You may also withdraw your consent by contacting us as described under “Contact Us.” Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing performed with your consent before its withdrawal.

Third-Party SDK and Information Sharing

The app uses the Sentry application monitoring service provided by Functional Software, Inc., doing business as Sentry, at 45 Fremont St, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. The information described above may be provided to Sentry for crash diagnostics, performance analysis, device compatibility analysis, and service quality improvements. Except where necessary for these purposes or required by applicable law, we do not sell, rent, exchange, or share your personal information with unrelated third parties.

Information Storage

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Because Sentry servers may be located outside China, the diagnostic and usage data described above may be transferred abroad and stored and processed by Sentry. We require the recipient to apply safeguards consistent with applicable law and this policy.

Information Security

We use reasonable and practicable security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, use, alteration, damage, or loss. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your Rights

To access, correct, or delete your personal information, withdraw your consent, request the deletion of associated data, or submit a complaint about our processing of personal information, contact us as described below. After verifying your identity, we will handle your request in accordance with applicable law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If the purpose, method, or scope of personal information processing changes materially, we will notify you again in a prominent manner, such as through a privacy policy dialog, and obtain your consent again where required by law. We will not process your personal information under the updated purpose, method, or scope before you agree to the updated policy.
