HIP 12961, also known as CD-23 1056, is a single M0V-type red dwarf star about 76 light-years away in the constellation Eridanus. A giant planet with a minimum mass of approximately 0.5 times that of Jupiter was discovered orbiting this star via the radial velocity method in 2009, with an orbital period of 57.2 days and a semi-major axis of 0.13 AU. The planet is named Aumatex.
