GRAIL was a NASA Discovery-class mission, consisting of two identical small spacecraft: GRAIL A (Ebb) and GRAIL B (Flow). Its objective was to perform high-quality mapping of the Moon's gravity field. Both spacecraft were launched on the same Delta II in 2011-Sept-10. Ebb and Flow reached the Moon in 2011-Dec-31 and 2012-Jan-01, respectively, and after completing their missions, both impacted the lunar surface in 2012-Dec-17.
