2MASS J05233822-1403022, also known as 2MASS J0523-1403, is a single L2.5V-type main-sequence star (or brown dwarf) about 40 light-years away in the constellation Lepus . With a mass of approximately 77 times that of Jupiter and a radius slightly smaller than Jupiter's, it is considered one of the smallest known stars, sitting at the theoretical minimum mass for hydrogen fusion . No exoplanets have been confirmed orbiting this star .
