KV Velorum is a triple star system located about 2,518 light-years away in the constellation Vela. It is comprised of a tight binary of a blue subdwarf and a red dwarf star, which are both orbited by a relatively massive brown dwarf. These stars are surrounded by a planetary nebula called DS1
