The Rosette Nebula, also known as NGC 2237 and Caldwell 49, is a distant H-II star-forming region about 5,500 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros. The entire complex is about 130 light-years across and about 2,500 young stars were found within its hydrogen clouds. In 2019, Oklahoma declared this nebula as their state astronomical object.
