2MASP J0345432+254023, also known as 2M0345+25, is a single L0-type brown dwarf about 88 light-years away in the constellation Taurus. Discovered in 1997, it was the first isolated late-M/early-L brown dwarf identified, initially classified as M9V before being reclassified as L0. The object lies in the foreground of the Pleiades star cluster (which is located about 400 light-years away) and is not a cluster member, as evidenced by its westward proper motion contrasting with the cluster’s southeastward motion. With an effective temperature of approximately 2,000–2,200 K and an estimated mass of 0.05–0.07 M☉ (roughly 50–70 Jupiter masses), this substellar object serves as a spectral standard for the L0 class.
