Gaia-5, also known as TIC 42004825, is a binary system consisting of an M-type red dwarf and a brown dwarf about 135 light-years away. The brown dwarf, designated Gaia-5b, has a mass of approximately 21 times that of Jupiter and was discovered via the astrometry method using Gaia mission data in 2025, with an orbital period of 358.6 days at a semi-major axis of 0.702 AU and a highly eccentric orbit of e = 0.64.
