On February 15, 2013, over the city of Chelyabinsk, Russia, a superbolite entered the Earth's atmosphere. This meteor exploded at an attitude of 29.7 km (18.5 mi). The energy released from the explosion was the equivalent of 400-500 kilotons of TNT - 26 to 33 times more energy than that released by the atomic bomb detonated in Hiroshima. About 1500 people were injured by broken glass.
