Saturn: Propellers

Propellers are disturbances in Saturn's rings, caused by a central moonlet. Hypothetical until 1995, they were first observed by Hubble and ESO as objects in the F ring. With the arrival of the Cassini in 2004, several propellers were discovered and observed.
