2008 TC₃ is an 80-tonne asteroid measuring 4.1 meters in diameter that was discovered on October 6, 2008 by the Catalina Sky Survey project. 19 hours after its discovery, the asteroid entered Earth's atmosphere above northern Sudan, and exploded tens of kilometers above ground over a remote area of ​​the Nubian desert. As of December 2008, more than 600 fragments of the asteroid have been found, totaling 10.5 kg (23 lb) of rock.
