C/2023 P1 (Nishimura) is a long-period comet discovered in 2023-Aug-12 by Hideo Nishimura. Completing one orbit once every 400 years, its most recent perihelion will occur on 2023-Sept-17, and is predicted to reach an apparent magnitude of 2.0-4.88 by that date, making it potentially visible to the naked eye. This comet may also be related to the Sigma Hydrids meteor shower, which peaks in intensity on November 30 of each year
