Alpha Centauri Bb is a proposed exoplanet that would be orbiting the star Alpha Centauri B (Toliman) 4.37 light-years away from Earth. The possible discovery of the planet was announced in October 2012 by European astronomers. In October 2015, astronomers at the University of Oxford published a scientific paper refuting the existence of the planet, considering that it is very likely that the planet does not exist. If it really exists, it would be a planet similar in size to Earth, but very hot due to its proximity to Toliman
