PROBA-3 is an ESA technology demonstration mission, launched in 2024-Dec-5 on a PSLV-XL. It consists of two satellites (OSC and CSC) which will fly in formation 144 meters apart, allowing the OSC to cast a shadow on the CSC, thus blocking direct sunlight and allowing images of the solar corona to be obtained in visible light, ultraviolet and polarized.
