Galileo Navigation Satellite System

The Galileo Navigational Satellite System (GNSS) is the European equivalent to the US Global Positioning System (GPS). Its constellation of 34 satellites (26 active, 8 derelict) provide Europe with high-precision geodesic navigation without relying much on GPS and GLONASS satellites. First launch occurred on December 2005
