4 Vesta is one of the largest objects in the asteroid belt and a surviving protoplanet, with an average diameter of 525 km. It was discovered in 1807 by Heinrich Wilhelm Olbers. It was studied by NASA's Dawn spacecraft between 2011 and 2012.
