2022 SF₂₈₉ is a 183-m potentially hazardous asteroid of the Apollo group. Its last close encounter with Earth was on 2022-Sept-7 at a distance of 7.2 million km and was spotted a year later during a successful test of the HelioLinc3D, an algorithm designed to be used by the future Vera C. Rubin Observatory as early as 2025
