LHS 1140 is a red dwarf star 48.8 light-years away in the constellation Cetus, which hosts two known planets. LHS 1140 b is a super-Earth in the habitable zone; initially thought to be a dense rocky planet, its density has since been revised downward, indicating that a large fraction of its mass is likely composed of water. LHS 1140 c is a hot rocky planet orbiting closer to the star.
