The Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS) is a series of eight Earth science satellites aiming to improve hurricane forecasting by better understanding the interactions between the sea and the air near the core of a storm. This $152 million mission was launched in a single Pegasus-XL rocket in 2016-Dec-15, and is actively continuing its operations as of 2022
