4179 Toutatis, is an elongated, near-Earth, stony asteroid of the Apollo/Alinda group approximately 4.26 kilometers in diameter. Discovered in 1989, it was visited by the Chang'e 2 spacecraft on 2012-Dec-13 at a distance of 3.2 km, making it the closest asteroid flyby ever attempted so far
