LISA Pathfinder, also known as SMART-2, is an ESA spacecraft sent to the Sun-Earth Lagrange point 1 (L1) in 2015 to test the technologies needed for the future LISA observatory. It operated until 2017 after demonstrating that the LISA mission is feasible
