The Meteosat Third Generation (MTG), also known as Sentinel-4, are a series of European weather satellites positioned in GEO. As of 2025, two satellites were launched since 2022, with four additional satellites planned for launch until 2036. It is intended to eventually replace the Meteosat-SG series, complementing both the GOES-R and the Himawari fleets.
