WX Centauri, also known as WR 48c, is a cataclysmic binary star system about 8,628 light-years away in the constellation Centaurus. Comprising of a blue giant star (once thought to be a Wolf Rayet star) and a white dwarf, their unstable nature makes them a possible progenitor for a Type Ia supernova in the future
