BepiColombo is a joint ESA-JAXA mission to the planet Mercury. It consists of three main elements: ESA's Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO), JAXA's Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (Mio) and the Mercury Transfer Module (MTM). The mission will perform a comprehensive study of Mercury, including characterization of its magnetic field, magnetosphere, interior and surface structure. Launched on 2018-Oct-20, it will arrive at Mercury on 2026-Nov-21 after a series of gravity assists at Earth, Venus and Mercury itself.
