Gliese 317 is a single M2.5V-type red dwarf star located about 50 light-years away in the constellation Pyxis. A system of two giant planets was discovered orbiting this star via the radial velocity method, with planet b announced in 2007 and planet c confirmed in 2018. The inner planet b has a mass of approximately 1.75 times that of Jupiter with an orbital period of 695.7 days (1.9 years), while the outer planet c has a mass of approximately 1.64 times that of Jupiter with an orbital period of 6,739 days (18.5 years).
