ISIS 1 and 2 (International Satellites for Ionospheric Studies) were Canadian satellites intended to study the ionosphere during a complete solar cycle. The first satellite, ISIS 1, was launched on January 30, 1969, followed by ISIS 2, launched on April 1, 1971. Both satellites are deactivated, but continue to orbit the Earth.
