M51-ULS-1 is a X-ray binary system about 23 to 28 million light-years away in the Whirlpool galaxy. In 2020, a extragalactic planet candidate was discovered orbiting around 45 AU from the star, completing an orbit once every 70 years. The candidate planet was detected in 2012 via transit and identified in 2020.
