Release date:
HD 153557, also known as Gliese 649.1, is a very complex multiple star system located about 58.5 light-years from the Solar System. The primary star, HD 153557 A, is a K-type main-sequence star with a mass of approximately 0.7 to 0.8 times that of the Sun. The companion stars, HD 153557 B and HD 153525, are a red dwarf and an orange dwarf, respectively, located 90 AU and 2017 AU from the primary star. The system has currently confirmed two super-Neptunes, both orbiting the primary star. At a distance of 21.4 astronomical units from the primary star, there is a brown dwarf with a mass of approximately 27.5 times that of Jupiter. The eccentricity of this brown dwarf is 0.15, and it takes approximately 111 years to complete one orbit.
