Release date:

Betelgeuse is a red supergiant star in the constellation Orion. It is the tenth brightest star in the night sky. Its radius is 640 to 764 times that of the Sun, and its mass is 10 to 20 times that of the Sun. If it were placed in the solar system, its photosphere would be located beyond the asteroid belt. It is approximately 400 to 600 light-years away from the solar system. Research from 2020 to 2025 suggests that Betelgeuse may have a companion star (which has not yet been confirmed). This companion star has a mass 1.6 times that of the Sun and may be a young F-type main sequence star. On September 22, 2025, this companion star was named Siwarha.
